Aesop's Fables - Crow and Pitcher
Narrative
In collaboration with textile designer Angeline Oei of A.Oei Studio, we have designed an original series of 6 pocket squares based on Aesop's fables - tales with morals that have accompanied many of us as children, and remain relevant even as we age.
Made of a lightweight silk printed in Como, our Crow and Pitcher pocket square features pastel tones of blues and pinks, with plenty of variation in scale and contrast for maximum versatility. Best worn as a nonchalant puff.
In a spell of dry weather, when the Birds could find very little to drink, a thirsty Crow found a pitcher with a little water in it. But the pitcher was high and had a narrow neck, and no matter how he tried, the Crow could not reach the water. The poor thing felt as if he might die of thirst.
Then an idea came to him. Picking up some small pebbles, he dropped them into the pitcher one by one. With each pebble the water rose a little higher until at last it was near enough so he could drink.
Necessity is the mother of invention.
